Description: From a business perspective, the management of employee health and safety is typically considered an expense (e.g., SG&A) on the business income statement. Or, simply put, health and safety is an expense that does not positively impact business revenue. During this workshop, the value of employee health and safety will be discussed, specifically as a positive impact on operational efficiency rather than as a cost avoidance on expenses. Furthermore, potential methods to calculate the valuation of managing employee health and safety will be discussed. Examples from corporate annual business reports, corporate sustainability reports, and United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) Form 10-K reports will be used to support the workshop.
